Cant Start Game

i've installed Asda on a different computer and tried to start it, but when the launcher comes up and i press the start button, nothing happens and the launcher closes. how do i fix this?

First, have you downloaded the new Instal file? If not, try downloading this: New Asda.exe

Extract it in your Asda Story folder. It should be: C:\Program Files\MaxOn Soft\Asda Story\system

Also, what you can do is open up the patcher and wait 15 minutes. The patcher is kinda bugged, so sometimes you might not see if it is patching or not, just wait, close it and restart it.

If nothing works, we'll try and figure something out.

Edit: Fixed a stupid mistake

Another helpful tip - If your patched and ready to go, go to whichever folder you've installed asda on, click on system then AsdaStory.exe , instant entry to serv w/o all the hassle of launcher.

That's what I've been doing...and btw, the 980kb file is supposed to go into C:\Program Files\MaxOn Soft\Asda Story\

I think the New Asda.exe was for the patcher...

umm... ive tried the new exe. now instead of closing and nothing happening, another launcher pops up... O.o? also, like Admin says, i tried the other exe file, but then it says 'text message data file not found' and still wont start.

It is. The AsdaStory.exe was suppose to patch up the faulty launcher so that we can patch and start game. If you notice, they made both patches from the AsdaStory.exe and new client on the same day. >_>

Ok, firstly, when players first had errors like "Unable to connect to serv" / launcher hanging / unable to patch, Asda devs made a new launcher zip called AsdaStory.zip for players to dl.

Yet it didn't fix the problem at all. So Asda devs updated a new client for players. The new client just changed the launcher thats all. Which is the same launcher that they created for AsdaStory.zip . Both launchers were made on the same day of Oct 12 7pm+ and Oct 12 3am respectively.

Only way you would get "text msg file not found" is if the d&dll. (cant remb) file is missing.

mhm.. some people do have these problems..
U using Vista or XP?

I believe there's a fix for it. I've yet to try it out since OB is not out. Here's my idea.

Uninstall firefox for those who have it. Get the latest IE. Tweak the internet options -> security and set cookies accepted for all. Hope it works lol.

I suggest you just wait until Open Beta starts. Maybe they'll have the problem fixed and you won't fuck your computer.
