I thought Kon got a freaky artificial soul in it
and there was some stupid background story about making those and then killing those and then poor soul and then yay and then other stupid stuff.

this entire show is like:
"something stupid happnes, makes ichigo and co. stupidly angry at random stuff, then they lose easily, then they all use friendship cheats and become mega super powerful but then something that's way more powerful than before shows up and makes them angry and stuff so that the series won't end at episode 5!!!!!!!! and then they train a bit and then they lose more and then they friendship cheat again into becoming super powerful and stuff"
like in... other series of that sort...
